Norway has a lot to offer

I wish I had been in Norway more. But unfortunately my only trip to Norway was quite short and superficial. We went for a trip with my family and another family with whom we are close. And thank goodness that we still get along! I mean going for a trip can be a friendship-ending activity.

Our Norway was mid-Norway and mostly Alesund and Geiranger. The other places were just a blur from the window of the minibus. Norway has just amazing and powerful nature - the mountains, the fjords, the forests. I could just imagine from what I saw there that Canada might be similar. As I haven't been in Canada yet then I can't also comment on it.

We had the Norway trip round the summer solstice and so it was just for our amazement that the Norwegians had also traditions related to fire, as us Estonians have. But since then I have noticed that us Europeans have many traditions which do not come from the church and are maybe considered paganism or such sort of belief. Something "old" but all of this is very similar to different cultures. When visiting Galizia, place for the pilgrims, then they had many things reminding me of Estonia. So this is actually amazing how EU is trying to make us similar but deep inside we anyways are the same. Just different packaging or handling the things.

From 2013 to 2019

I can't believe I didn't continue with my travel blog. I have been to SO many places since then. And while traveling back from one of the trips in May 2019 I listed the countries I've been to. And to many of them also couple of times already. So here is the list: - Finland - Latvia - Lithuania - Russia - Sweden - Norway - Poland - Denmark - The Netherlands - UK - Scotland - Ireland - Germany - France - Spain - Portugal - Italy - Vatican - Monacco - Austria - Czech Republic - Slovakia - Slovenia - Croatia - Greece - Turkey - USA - Japan - Singapore - Indonesia/Bali - India It's 31 in total. Wow! I am so lucky to have had these opportunities. Right now I feel eager to share the times and memories with this blog. Let's see how I manage.

How I got started

In recent years I've been travelling a lot. These travels haven't been very adventurous, but interesting enough for me. As I'm into culture of different kind then it has been satisfactory. Most of the interesting travels have been thanks to European Union and Youth In Action but I will try my best to get out of Europe more often. My first and successful attempt was to the States in October-November 2012. I suppose I will post about it some day. But here is the song that will always and forever remind me the awesome and liberating feeling of driving from Stansted airport towards London City. After my first flight in my life. My friend Jim had just told me before the flight that I should listen to music and memorize the feeling of getting off the ground. I sure did that. And this is how I got the virus of travelling. Of course I had been to Finland, Sweden, Russia and Latvia as they are all so close to Estonia, my dear and oh-so-young-and-sometimes-stupid homeland. ...
